For more detailed information on South Australian weather head to www.bom.gov.au/sa SURF AND WATER SAFETY When visiting one of South Australia’s many popular beaches, always remember to swim between the red and yellow flags. These flags indicate the safest place to swim – many beaches are not patrolled and are extremely dangerous. Useful Information VISITOR INFORMATION On your travels keep an eye out for one of our many visitor information centres which will display a blue logo with the yellow ‘i’. The friendly staff can assist you with accommodation, local activities, itineraries, maps and hot spots. SOUTH AUSTRALIA: DRIVING SAFETY Always drive on the left-hand side of any two-way roads in Australia. Speed limits are strictly enforced and your blood alcohol level must not exceed 0.05 per cent, so please take care when wine tasting. Scheduling regular rest stops on a long journey is also recommended. EMERGENCY NUMBERS Call 000 for all emergencies (police, ambulance, fire), or 13 14 44 for police assistance. CAMPING We strongly recommend camping in designated camping grounds and caravan parks and make use of the fabulous facilities. If you wish to ‘free camp’ ensure that you are compliant. Ask local authorities for advice as hefty fines may apply.
